Crane concept

Operational challenges
Performance depends on the relationship between outreach and lifting capacity. As radius increases, available capacity drops, which can limit payload if the grab is too heavy or poorly matched. Terminals that handle many materials also face the trade-off between grab specialization and operational simplicity. The goal is to keep cycle times short, payload high, and energy use controlled, while minimizing changeovers and maintenance.
Choosing the right grab

Where conditions vary day to day, a heavy-duty clamshell offers reliable closure, broad material compatibility, and straightforward maintenance.
