Engineering the next cycle
Innovation at Nemag is practical: geometry, materials, and mechanics that turn minutes into throughput. From concept to quay, we focus on what crews feel every shift—faster cycles, cleaner hatches, fewer unplanned stops—so terminals keep their windows.
Our track record spans patented rope connections, smarter shell kinematics, tougher wear zones and service-friendly details like centralized greasing—each validated in simulation (FEA), prototyped, proof-loaded, and refined in field trials. Some advances ship on new grabs; others retrofit existing fleets to lift productivity without changing the crane. This is our collection of innovations—past and present.

Our commitment to innovation
Innovation at Nemag starts with real-world problems from terminals and OEMs, moves through in-house engineering sprints and simulation, and ends only when a prototype is measured in the yard and shows clear gains for cycle time, uptime, and clean-up.
Research and collaboration
TU Delft samenwerking vanaf 2009.

Engineering marvels from Nemag
Optimized performance
Discover how terminals and transshipment crews use Nemag's grabs to get shorter cycles, cleaner hatches, and fewer unplanned stops.
SMT Shipping
"Our handling speed increased from 1,000 to 1,250 tons per hour. The NemaX paid for itself more than four times in its first year. "
VLI Pecém
"We now unload a ship in four days instead of five. Savings in demurrage costs are considerable, to say the least."
Our drive for quality
Innovation gets forged into quality builds
At Nemag, every innovation is translated into a controlled build: engineered in 3D and validated with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), executed under an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 quality system with ISO 3834-2 qualified welding, and checked against a 60-point inspection before shipment.
Quality standards you can ensure our products and staff adhere to
Optimizing cycle speed
Finding the optimal crane-grab combination
You can’t always change the crane—but you can change the grab: faster opening/closing and lower dead-weight increase payload and trim faster, translating into quicker unloading and fewer delays across the terminal.
